This Extra Strong Bitter (ESB) has a rich, malty character, combined with a powerful, hoppy bitternss and a strong 5.5% alcohol content.
This style, also sometimes known as a "Winter Warmer", is found right across the length & breadth of the United Kingdom, but is certainly very popular in the Lake District, where one could settle back in a traditional local pub after a long day hill walking.
Named after the northernmost hill of the Scafell chain in the Southern Lake District, this beer also has an unassuming start. The dramatic finish that comes with the on-going bitterness can only be described as a Great End.
This beer is brewed for winter or springtime consumption, so is not usually available during the summer months.
